Rwanda has welcomed seven migrants from the United States, the first group to arrive under a new bilateral agreement.
Government Spokesperson Yolande Makolo confirmed their arrival in mid-August, saying they were screened and approved, and are now under the care of humanitarian agencies.
Four migrants have expressed interest in staying permanently, while others prefer not to return home. Rwanda expects to host up to 250 migrants under the deal, with U.S. financial support yet to be detailed.
