RwandAir’s ambition to turn Kigali into a continental aviation hub took a step forward this month with the arrival of two new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
With seating for 174 passengers each, the planes will serve regional and medium-haul routes, complementing the airline’s growing fleet of Airbus and Bombardier aircraft.
Chief Commercial Officer Fouad Caunhye said RwandAir plans to receive even more aircraft this year, including a fourth Airbus A330, which will help the airline increase its capacity by 15–20%.
“We are building for the future,” Caunhye said. “Our vision is to make Kigali the Dubai of Africa — a central hub where travelers connect seamlessly across the continent and beyond.”
