President Kagame Strengthens Rwanda–Azerbaijan Ties in Baku Visit

President Paul Kagame was warmly welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, and other senior officials. His visit comes shortly after a November 13, 2024, meeting in Addis Ababa with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, where both leaders discussed ways to deepen cooperation in key sectors. The talks focused on boosting investment, promoting trade, and enhancing knowledge exchange to support sustainable development. Rwanda and Azerbaijan, which established diplomatic ties in 2017, continue to strengthen their partnership through growing political and economic collaboration.
