Journalists Face Low Pay and Job Insecurity, Report Shows

Low salaries and unstable employment continue to affect many journalists, according to a new report examining their living conditions.

The findings show that only 2.7% of journalists believe their salaries fully meet their needs, while most respondents said their income only partially covers basic expenses or does not cover them at all.

The survey also highlighted employment insecurity in the media sector. Less than half of journalists have permanent contracts, while freelancers account for nearly 20% of the workforce.

Housing remains another challenge, with nearly 69% of journalists living in rented homes. A smaller percentage own homes, while a few depend on relatives or employer-provided accommodation.

The report paints a picture of a profession facing significant economic pressure despite its important role in society.
