KIGALI – Rising Rwandan artist Rukundo Philemon, best known as Philemon, has revealed that fellow singer and journalist Uncle Austin (Luwano Tosh) played a decisive role in connecting him to The Ben’s “Plenty Love” album launch concert at BK Arena on January 1, 2025.
Philemon was among the new-generation artists, alongside Shemi and J-Sha, who shared the stage with The Ben. It marked his first appearance on a major stage in four years.
He performed Amasomo, a collaboration with Uncle Austin, which was warmly received by thousands of fans. “Uncle Austin called me just a day before the show and told me I was needed,” Philemon recalled.
The young artist said the BK Arena performance gave him confidence and renewed inspiration. “The biggest takeaway was hope and belief in my music journey,” he said.
