Kigali will host women entrepreneurs from Rwanda and Mauritius during the upcoming SheTrades Hub-to-Hub Collaboration Mission, an initiative designed to promote cross-border trade and investment opportunities for women-led businesses in Africa.
The event, scheduled for May 18–20, 2026, will focus on industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, ICT, tourism, beauty, and agricultural processing.
The mission is being organized by Economic Development Board Mauritius together with the SheTrades Rwanda Hub under the Private Sector Federation.
About 18 women-led enterprises from Mauritius are expected to attend the forum in Kigali. Organizers say the goal is to encourage stronger cooperation among women entrepreneurs and create sustainable business partnerships across Africa.
According to Nirmala Jeetah, the initiative will help Mauritian women-owned businesses expand into new African markets and strengthen commercial networks.
Meanwhile, Thérèse Sekamana noted that women entrepreneurs have enormous potential to transform regional trade through partnerships and knowledge-sharing under AfCFTA.
The SheTrades initiative, launched by the International Trade Centre in 2015, supports women entrepreneurs through training, market access, investment opportunities, and policy advocacy.
